Dear DSF Friends and Family:
My dear friend, the Rev. Dr. Bill Thomas, recently stated in a meditation that as "safer at home" restrictions relax, we need to "plan and prepare." Be thoughtful and intentional about making things ready for a reality that is to come. That is what DSF is doing - planning and preparing for a healthy future.
We are aware of a number of recent changes at Disciples Seminary Foundation that could significantly disrupt our mission to support students in our partner schools and the Certificate of Ministry Studies and Diploma of Ministry Studies programs. However, through God's grace and the immediate action by the DSF Board, we are moving forward with confidence and greater security. All of this is taking place amid the unprecedented pandemic and other events that have forced us to redefine our goals and activities. DSF is not exempt from the consequences of previously unforeseen changes now gripping the whole world. However, the DSF Board is acting with diligence and vision to stay the course and continue the mission and purpose of the Foundation with integrity and full commitment.
Recently, our Claremont neighbor and one of our partners in our mission, Claremont School of Theology (CST), leased its property and is moving to Salem, Oregon. They too have been faced with making hard decisions. We continue to be close partners with CST. It is no longer practical for DSF to maintain its current location in Claremont. As we continue to explore the sale of our Claremont building, we are also exploring a possible relocation to an ideal spot in Southern California. When these conversations are further along, we will be able to publicly celebrate this new partnership.
Here at DSF, we are celebrating 60 years of ministry! We are excited and look forward to being in touch with as many of our friends and family as possible. So, stay tuned. Keep us in your prayers and check out what we are up to on our DSF website.
