Connections to the Wider Church
DSF students are active and involved in the local, regional, general, and ecumenical church. We grant travel scholarships to help DSF students attend regional assemblies, the Disciples’ General Assembly, and the Disciples Seminarians Conference. Many of our students also participate in the regional or general church through committees, task forces, conferences, mission trips, and other opportunities with DSF support.
In addition to the financial and networking benefits of being a DSF student, we also understand that studying and ministry are hard and that spiritual growth is important. DSF is a community of around 200 Disciples and UCC students, as well as more than 800 graduates, supporting each other as we follow God’s calling.
In covenant with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and in cooperation with ecumenical and educational partners, Disciples Seminary Foundation serves God through the formation and support of emerging theological leaders for diverse Christian communities.
We believe in the future of the church. We know that the church won’t look like it used to, and we’re excited about what God is doing next in our midst. Many of our students are exploring new church planting, the emergent church, or other new forms of being God’s people in the world. At DSF, you’ll find commitment to innovation – and support for bold dreams.
At DSF, we envision a new church, a church of the future where God is doing new, surprising things, and where the most ancient yearnings of faith find their answers. Come join us!
Disciples Seminary Foundation is committed to the policy that persons of all gender expressions and sexual identities are welcome in the membership, leadership, and employment of our ministry and that gender expression and sexual identity will not be used to discriminate among those whom the ministry serves.
DSF has been supporting theological leaders since 1959. Click here to learn more about DSF's history.
