About the DSF Library

The Disciples Seminary Foundation has built and maintains one of the largest collections of Discipliana outside of the Disciples of Christ Historical Society in Nashville, Tennessee.  DSF's Collection focuses on

  • historical and current works about persons, institutions, units, congregations
  • the history of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
  • works written by Disciples in the general field of religion.

The Collection consists of some 5000 volumes integrated into the BLAIS cataloguing system of Claremont School of Theology and The Claremont Colleges.

In addition to the Cataloged volumes, Disciples periodicals, pamphlets, rare books, microfilm, memorabilia and miscellany provide additional research tools for Disciples history and polity students and others interested in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

The collection is generally available to the public during office hours, and most catalogued volumes may be checked out with acceptable library identification or letter of reference or through interlibrary loan.

DSF students receive the highest level of theological education through our partner institutions: Claremont School of Theology, Pacific School of Religion, and Seattle University School of Theology and Ministry.

Our students graduate with the skills for effective ministry and with spiritual resources for a lifetime of ministry. DSF also partners with the church to nurture and call future leaders.

All of this is made possible by generous donors, including Disciples Mission Fund, who share our vision of leadership for mission in an ever-changing future.
