Rev. Dr. LaTaunya “Toni” Bynum Scholarship Fund

Disciples Seminary Foundation is celebrating Rev. Dr. LaTaunya “Toni” Bynum for her lifetime of faithful ministry, leadership, and enduring service to the Church, and we invite you to join us by contributing to the Rev. Dr. LaTaunya Bynum Fund at DSF.

For almost five decades, Toni has lived, learned, and loved the Church. Raised at United Christian Church in Los Angeles, she earned her Bachelor of Arts from Chapman College and her Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from the School of Theology at Claremont. Since her ordination on September 14, 1980, Toni has served the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in pastoral ministry in Iowa and Ohio; as an Executive Program Director for the General Office of the Christian Church; and as Regional Minister for both the Ohio and the Northern California/Nevada regions.

She has also served as President of the College of Regional Ministers and has contributed her wisdom and experience through the Pension Fund Board, the Council on Christian Unity and Interfaith Ministry, the Council on Theological Education, and the boards of Chapman University and DSF.

DSF proudly supported Toni throughout her seminary education in preparation for her many years of ministry, and DSF remains firmly committed to making theological education affordable and accessible for all. This is a commitment shared by Toni, who has generously served on the DSF Board of Directors for many years, including two terms as Board Chair.

As Toni enters retirement, please join DSF in honoring her remarkable legacy. Our goal is to raise at least $10,000 and we are asking for your support. A gift to the Rev. Dr. LaTaunya Bynum Fund is a meaningful tribute to her lifelong commitment to ministry and theological education and an investment in the leaders who will serve the Church in the years ahead.
