DSF's Response to Claremont School of Theology's Announcement

Dear Friends and Family of Disciples Seminary Foundation,

Claremont School of Theology recently released news that they will be selling their property as part of an effort to more sustainably live out their mission.

Inevitably, this transition will affect the Disciples Seminary Foundation family. Claremont School of Theology is an integral part of Disciples Seminary Foundation’s story; a part in our shared roots. Both CST and Disciples Seminary Foundation are committed to sharing more information as it forms. However, we want you to know that DSF commits to these three principles:

  1. Students come first: From Seattle to San Diego, our growing student population is at its highest record of 110 students and these students remain our highest priority. And while our student population is strong, our prospects are even stronger.

  2. We support our partners at Claremont School of Theology: Wherever CST chooses to reside, Disciples Seminary Foundation commits to working alongside and supporting their administration, staff, and students.

  3. DSF’s office will remain in Claremont: Disciples Seminary Foundation’s commitment to living out our mission to support our students in Southern California remains as vital as ever. We will keep our office in Claremont, while also maintaining our presence on each partner campus.

Our mission is to build the future of church by providing education, mentoring, networking, and financial support to seminary students affiliated with the Disciples of Christ and the United Church of Christ. That mission is ever-growing as we continue to partner with Claremont School of Theology as one of our oldest partners, in new ways. If you have any questions, feel welcome to contact Vanessa Gorski at vgorski@dsf.edu

I hope to see many of you at DSF's booth at General Assembly or another gathering this summer.

Peace,
Jon Berquist

Disciples Seminary Foundation works with five partner seminaries on the West Coast to provide excellent education, mentoring, networking, and financial support for people preparing to lead in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and United Church of Christ.
